Remington's Hunt Club in Hattiesburg, MS, was once the largest nightclub in the state. The club boasted big name bands and large events and was the center of late-night life in the Pine Belt.
After being forced to close, the building stood vacant for roughly 18 months; the once lively nightclub was nothing more than an empty and degrading building.
During this time, God was moving in the hearts of Venture Church's leadership team. He was showing them that it was time to renew our method for being a church for the unchurched. It was time to become a multi-site church. After much consideration for locations for our second campus, the church voted to purchase the old Remington's Hunt Club.
The building was completely transformed and became The Hunt Club Campus. The parking lot, which was once filled with overgrown weeds and beer bottles, now fills up with the cars of families who come each and every week to one of the campus's two worship experiences on Sundays at 9:30 & 11:00 a.m.
What was once filled with desperation is now filled with hope. What was once tragedy is now triumph.
The Hunt Club Campus is a testament to how God can take something so dark, dirty and broken and transform it into a place of life, of hope, and of victory.
