TURNING POINT WEEKEND

Turning Point Weekend is the annual fall retreat for Venture Students in 7th-12th grade. This weekend provides students with an opportunity to engage in worship, hear relevant teaching, meet new friends, and ultimately have a ton of fun! This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Turning Point Weekend, which began in 1999! There are some special surprises in store this year to help us celebrate this milestone moment in our ministry, and we want your student to be a part!

Turning Point Weekend is taking place from Friday, November 8 through Sunday, November 10, 2024. TPW will take place at Camp Shelby, located off of HWY 49 in Hattiesburg.

FAQs

Turning Point Weekend is for students who are currently in 7th - 12th grade. The programming and activities of TPW are specifically designed for students in 7th-12th grade, so 6th graders will not be in attendance. We love having 6th graders as part of the MVMNT each week, and we hope that they look forward to joining us at TPW in the next school year when they enter 7th grade.
Early Bird princing for TPW has closed and the total cost is now $130. The cost of Turning Point Weekend includes all meals, housing, transportation, and activities.
A $25 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your student’s registration for Turning Point Weekend.
Payment for Turning Point Weekend is due in full by Sunday, November 3.
Registration will officially close on Sunday, October 27.
Yes, financial assistance is available based on need! The financial assistance form will close Sunday, October 27th. We want every student to be a part of Turning Point Weekend, regardless of financial status. We have a variety of scholarship amounts available based on the needs of your family. Please fill out the Financial Assitance Form at the top of the page and your Campus Student Pastor will reach out to you.
Due to the purchasing of supplies and reserving transportation and housing, after Sunday, October 20, we will only be able to offer a 50% refund for any cancellations. On Sunday, October 27, no refunds will be given for any cancellations. Please contact us if you have an emergency situation.
In order to ensure the safety of your student and help our team keep track of how many students are coming and going throughout the weekend, we will only allow students to be dropped off or picked up during meal times throughout the weekend. There will be a check-in location for any student being picked up or dropped off located in the parking lot directly outside of the Camp Shelby South Gate entrance.

  • Saturday - Breakfast @ 7:30 a.m.
  • Saturday - Lunch @ 11:30 a.m.
  • Saturday - Dinner @ 5:00 p.m.

    • There will be NO Friday night late bus bringing students to TPW this year. We ask that students who are unable to make the Friday night check-in time arrive during breakfast on Saturday morning.
    For the safety of all of our students, prescription medications of any kind will not be allowed to be self-administered by students at Turning Point Weekend. We will have registered nurses and medical personnel on-site throughout the duration of the weekend to distribute prescription medications. All prescription medications must be labeled with full name, dosage amount and schedule, and be turned in to staff and/or medical personnel. We also ask that you specify what medications your child must take, as well as any other pertinent medical concerns at the time of registration. First Aid Kits will be available throughout the weekend to provide students with non-prescription medication for any needs that might arise.
    Follow the registration link on this page to sign up to be a leader at TPW. All leaders are required to pass a background check and attend a leader training (dates to be determined) prior to attending Turning Point Weekend. The cost for leaders to attend is $35 if registered prior to Sunday, October 20. After this date, the leader cost will go up to $55. This cost includes lodging, food, and transportation for the duration of the weekend.
    While your student does not need spending money for meals, there will be opportunities to purchase merchandise ($10-25) throughout the weekend. Vending machines will also be available for snack/drink purchases throughout the weekend. Please note that TPW will be entirely CASHLESS this year. All merchandise and vending machine purchases must be made by credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or prepaid Visa card.
    We’re so excited to announce that Turning Point Weekend merchandise is available for pre-order! Visit the link below to order items from our TPW store. Orders will be passed out on Friday, November 8 at TPW check-in. There will be a limited supply of these clothing items available for purchase during the weekend, so we recommend that you pre-order! Pre-Orders will close on Monday, October 28.

    During the weekend, there will also be some additional non-clothing items (stickers, water bottles) for purchase!

    Check-in for TPW will take place from 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8.

    Students who attend The Lincoln Road, Hunt Club, or Jones County Campus will check in at The Lincoln Road Campus. Students who attend The Stone County or Gulf Coast Campus will check in at The Stone County Campus.
    On Sunday morning, students will be transported back to their home campus for breakfast and the Sunday morning worship experience. Students who attend The Lincoln Road, Hunt Club, and Gulf Coast Campuses will attend the 9:30 a.m. worship experience. Students who attend The Stone County Campus will attend the 8:30 worship experience. Students who attend The Jones County Campus will attend the 10:00 a.m. worship experience.
