Living Fully Convinced

Begin with two minutes of stillness and silence before God.

If you spend time reading the Bible, you’ll quickly notice how often Abraham is mentioned. Romans 4 is one chapter where Abraham takes center stage. He wasn’t a perfect man, but he was a man of deep faith—“fully convinced,” as verses 20 and 21 say, that the God of the Bible is the one true God. Because of that faith, God counted him as righteous.

Here are just a few things the Bible tells us Abraham did because he was fully convinced of who God is:

  • He left his home and everything familiar to follow God’s call to a new land.
  • He built altars to worship God and express his gratitude.
  • He honored God with his possessions, giving back generously.

Our actions reveal what truly matters to us. When someone is fully convinced that Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be, their life reflects that belief. Just look around—it’s not hard to see what people are truly convinced about. Where we invest our time, our talents, and our treasures tells a clear story.

So, let me ask: Where are you investing your time, talents, and treasures? Are you fully convinced that Jesus lived a perfect life, died in the place of sinners, and paid the price for your sins on the Cross?

“And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.” Romans‬

Lord, I am thankful for Abraham and the legacy of faith he left for us today. Help me to leave a legacy of a fully convinced faith by allowing my faith to drive my actions.

Take two minutes to reflect in silence.
Reflection:
  • Use the S.O.A.P. Method to study God’s Word.
  • SCRIPTURE: What stands out to you in today’s passage?
  • OBSERVATION: What is this text saying? What is the context? How does it fit with the verses before and after it? Are there any commands, instructions, or promises?
  • APPLICATION: How can you apply this verse to your life? What does this mean today? What is God saying to you?
  • PRAYER: Respond to the passage in prayer. Ask God to help you apply this truth to your life and spend some time listening to what He may be telling you.
