Scripture: Mark 6:31-32

Wednesday was quiet. Scripture is silent on the events of the day, but Jesus had not disappeared. The city was stirred up with excitement, but Jesus and His disciples stayed away from the limelight and went away together. The disciples basked in the final moments they had with their savior and friend, and Jesus enjoyed fellowship with the people with whom He had shared His earthly life. Ultimately all of them would need this moment of rest for the days to come. Rest is a gift given to us by God, and while we certainly can rest alone, Jesus and the disciples taught us the beauty of resting together.

Life Application:

• Take 15 minutes to put all the distractions away and simply rest. It is worth the investment.
• House Church is a great place to rest together. Make plans to spend time in fellowship and prayer with your House Church tonight.  

Prayer Prompt:

• Thank God for the gift of rest and the gift of community. 
• As you practice “resting together” at House Church tonight, pray for the upcoming Easter at Venture worship experiences. Pray for the people in your area who need to come and hear about the saving hope of Jesus.
