Scripture: Matthew 21:1-11
On the Sunday before Easter, Jesus knew what this week would hold. He knew this week would be full of pain, heartache, disappointment, and fear, but also peace, joy, and friendship. Jesus embraced the journey as He got on the back of the donkey, an animal meant to carry burdensome weight, just like He would carry the weight of the cross on His shoulders. The people cried out for salvation, for rescue from their oppressors, but the rescue Jesus would offer wouldn’t be from the bondage of government - it would be from chains of sin and death. Today is the day of The Triumphal Entry because, for Jesus, the victory was already sealed.
Life Application:
- How do you see Jesus?
- Scripture tells us that He is much more than a helper for your struggles. He is the King of Kings. The Lord of Lords. The Son of God sent to offer you eternal rescue. Do you see Jesus for who He really is?
- Ask God to help you see Him, worship Him, and trust Him for who He really is.
Prayer Prompt:
- Ask God to prepare your heart to praise Him for who He is this week.
