Read Matthew 28

Head

Matthew 28 is full of Good News! Jesus has risen from the dead and revealed Himself to His disciples. They are spending time with Him in Galilee when Jesus gives them His final instructions, which are recorded in Matthew 28:19-20. Jesus told the disciples, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Because these are Jesus’ last words to His disciples before he ascended into heaven, we know they are very important.

Heart

Some Bible scholars say the verb “go” in these verses can be translated as “as you are going.” I don’t know about you, but I feel like our family is always on the go! From school to church to practices to birthday parties - there are always so many places to go! I love the command to “make disciples” as we move through life - showing and sharing the love of Jesus in all the nooks and crannies of our everyday lives.

Hands

Sit down with your family and make a list of all the places you will go to this week. Talk about how you can show and share the love of Jesus in each and every situation.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You that You are always with us. Please help us to show and share your love as we are going this week. Amen.
