Read:

Open your Bible and read Matthew 1:1-17 together. Then, talk through the questions and pray. If you haven’t done your daily Family Advent Calendar challenge, this is a great time to complete it together!

Questions:

1. Why do you think Matthew thought it was important to list Jesus’ family all the way back to David? (Listing the genealogy of Jesus and showing that He was a descendant of David is important because God told His people through prophets (messengers) that the Messiah would come from David’s family. This shows us that God fulfills His promises!)
   
2. What can you trust God with this week?
   

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for giving us the Bible. Help us to learn from it and confidently stand on Your promises that You have given us in Your Word. In Jesus name, Amen.
