Head

Have you ever walked into a dark room and couldn’t see anything? It can feel a little scary until someone turns on the light. John 1 verse 5, tells us that Jesus is like a bright light shining in the darkness. God sent John the Baptist to tell people about Jesus, the True Light. John helped prepare the way for Jesus by telling people that Jesus was God’s Chosen One, our Savior! Jesus came to make us part of God’s family. He showed God’s love in a way that we could understand. The world was full of sin, but Jesus came to bring light, showing us how much God loves us and how we can follow Him. It doesn’t matter how big or small you are, where you live, or what you’ve done, Jesus loves you just as you are. When we believe in Him, we are part of God’s family. His light shines in our hearts and reminds us that God is always with us.

John 2 tells us about two important events that show who Jesus is and what He came to do. First, Jesus went to a wedding in a town called Cana with His mother, Mary, and His disciples. At the wedding, they ran out of wine, which was a big problem for the hosts. Mary told Jesus about it, and He decided to help. Jesus told the servants to fill six large jars with water. When they served the water, it had turned into wine! This was Jesus’ first miracle! This shows us that Jesus is powerful and cares about our needs.

Later, Jesus went to the temple in Jerusalem, a place where people came to worship God. But when He arrived, He saw people buying and selling animals and exchanging money. Jesus became very upset because the temple was meant to be a holy place. John 2 verse 16 tells us that He cleared out the sellers and said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!”

Heart

Jesus wanted people to honor God with respect. God is holy, and we should worship Him with our whole hearts. When we go to church or spend time praying, we are showing love and respect to God.

Hands

Jesus brings light to dark places, invites us into God’s family, meets our needs, and teaches us how to worship. Most of all, Jesus came to save us from sin and give us life forever with Him. When we believe in Jesus, we don’t have to be afraid of the dark anymore. His light will always guide us, and His love will always be with us.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for being the light that shines in the darkness. Thank You for loving us and inviting us to be part of Your family. Help us to trust You, worship You, and follow You every day. Thank You for saving us and showing us how much You care. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
