Head

In John 3, we read about a man named Nicodemus. Nicodemus was a Pharisee, which means he was a teacher who knew a lot about God’s laws. One night, Nicodemus came to talk to Jesus because he wanted to learn more about Him. Jesus told Nicodemus something surprising: to be part of God’s kingdom, a person must be “born again.” Nicodemus was confused. How can someone be born twice? Jesus explained that this new birth wasn’t about being born as a baby again. Instead, it was about being born of the Spirit. When we believe in Jesus, God changes our hearts and gives us new life through His Spirit.

Heart

One of the most famous Bible verses, John 3:16, is part of this story. It says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse tells us how much God loves us! He sent Jesus to save us from sin so that we can live forever with Him. When we trust Jesus, He forgives our sins and makes us part of His family.

In John 4, we read of another person who talked with Jesus. This time, it was a woman from Samaria. She came to a well to get water, and Jesus asked her for a drink. This surprised her because Jews and Samaritans didn’t usually talk to each other. But Jesus wasn’t like other people. He cared about everyone, no matter who they were. Jesus told her about “living water.” He said that the water from the well would only quench thirst for a little while, but the living water He gives would last forever. He was talking about eternal life, life with God that never ends. The woman realized Jesus was special, and she believed in Him. She was so excited that she ran back to her town to tell everyone about Jesus. Because of her, many people in the town came to believe in Jesus too. This shows us that Jesus’ love and salvation are for everyone, no matter where they come from or what they’ve done.

Hands

We learn two very important things from these chapters. First, Jesus gives us new life when we believe in Him. He forgives our sins and fills our hearts with His Spirit. Second, Jesus cares about everyone, and He wants us to share His love with others, just like the Samaritan woman did. We can trust Jesus to give us what we need and to guide us every day.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for loving us so much that You came to give us new life. Thank You for forgiving our sins and helping us to follow You. Help us to share Your love with others, just like the Samaritan woman did. Thank You for being our Savior! We love You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
