Head

How much water do you drink each day? Most experts say that we should drink about eight glasses of water a day. Of course, there are other things to drink besides water. Sometimes I like to have a glass of milk, especially with cookies! But there is no substitute for water when you are hot and thirsty. In John 7, Jesus went to a big celebration called the Festival of Tabernacles. During the festival, Jesus said something amazing: “If anyone is thirsty, let them come to Me and drink.” This passage is a powerful reminder of the importance of growing our faith in Jesus. Jesus wasn’t talking about regular water; He was talking about the Holy Spirit. When we believe in Jesus, He fills our hearts with His Spirit, giving us peace and joy, living a life that glorifies God! Cool, refreshing water, it refreshes the body, but it can't compare to the "Living Water" that Jesus gives. It refreshes our souls!

In chapter 8, Jesus was teaching in the temple, and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been living a sinful life and said she should be punished. But Jesus showed her compassion and mercy. He said, “Let anyone who is without sin throw the first stone.” One by one, the Pharisees walked away because they were all sinful. No one was or is perfect, only Jesus! Jesus told the woman to go and sin no more.

Heart

These encounters with these women show us that Jesus loves us and forgives our sins. Jesus is full of love and mercy. He forgives us when we mess up, and He wants us to treat others with love and forgiveness too.

Hands

When others hurt us, forgiving them and treating them with love can be hard. We can remember how Jesus has loved us and forgiven us even when we didn’t deserve it. That’s how He wants us to treat others. Who do you need to forgive and love this week?

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. Fill our hearts with Your Spirit so that we can grow our faith and live a life that glorifies You. Help us to be kind and compassionate to others. We love You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
