Head: Know God's Word | Heart: Love God | Hands: Follow God's Way
Read 2 Corinthians 4:1-7
Head:
Did you know that God’s power and light shine through you? He gave us His light so that others can see it and know who He is. When we come to know Jesus, we lay aside our “disgraceful, underhanded ways”. Our lives are changed! We begin to live for Him and not ourselves.
Heart:
Have you ever been for a walk after dark? If you live out in the country like me, it gets almost pitch black outside at night. There are no city lights to light the street. It can be a little scary! You can’t see right in front of your face! Thankfully, I usually have a flashlight handy to light my path. Just like that flashlight, the light of God shines on a path for us as well. It points others on the path to Jesus. When we have God’s light in us, we are like that flashlight shining on the path towards Jesus, too.
Hands:
Grab a flashlight and go outside tonight. If you have outside lights, turn off what you can. Notice how dark it is when all the lights are off. Think about what a scary world it would be without the One, true light! Turn the flashlight on and notice how it brightens the way so you can see. Be reminded of the light God shines for us and through us! Be that light to people around you this week.
Prayer:
God, thank You for the light You shine to direct our path. Help me to be a light for You in everything I do. Help me point my friends and family to You so that they can have Your light, too. Amen.
