Read John 4:1-45

Head

Today Jesus encounters a new and unlikely friend who is very different from Him. Jesus encounters who we know to be the woman at the well. She has come to the well to draw water. She is not the same as Jesus and she is very surprised that he wants a drink from her. She had a lot of sin in her life, and she did not think that God would love her. Jesus took the time to sit with her and to talk with her, and just by doing that He made her feel so special.

Heart

Today is another opportunity to reflect on those who are different from us. Sometimes we get so familiar with our regular friend groups that we forget to include others. Jesus tells the woman at the well about the Living Water that washes away her sins. What do you know about the Living Water? How can you be a light to those around you so that you reflect the goodness of Jesus?

Prayer: Dear God, we are so thankful that when we sin You offer us forgiveness. God, thank You for taking the time to sit with us and listen when we are sad or when we have messed up. Thank You for reminding us that Your forgiveness never runs out. We love You! Amen.
