Read James 2:14-26

Head

Faith. You’ve heard that word a lot lately. I think sometimes we get the wrong idea about faith. Some people think that if you just have faith and believe, God will take care of everything. But, do you know what verse 17 tells us? It tells us that faith without works is dead! That means if we just believe but don’t do good works, then it gets us nowhere.

Heart

When Abraham was asked to take Isaac up to the mountain and offer him as a sacrifice, Abraham had so much faith in God that he obeyed. Because Abraham obeyed and had faith in God, his son was saved. God saw Abraham act out his faith in Him, and Abraham was called “a friend of God” because of that! Just like Abraham, we should also be living out our faith. If we have faith, those good works should flow naturally from us because we want others to see Jesus.

Remember, saying you have faith but not doing anything means that your faith is dead. Take time as a family to make a list of ways you can live out your faith this week so others can see Jesus!

Prayer: Father, help us to boldly live out our faith so others can see You! Amen.
