Head: Know God’s Word | Heart: Love God | Hands: Follow God’s Way
Read Revelation 19
HEAD
Would you rather be led into war by a loving, gentle man or a man with eyes like blazing fire, many crowns on his head, an iron rod in his hand, and a sharp sword coming out of his mouth? Never mind…you don’t have to choose. In Revelation 19, this describes Jesus leading armies of heaven into battle. He is called “Faithful and True…the Word of God.” The same gentle, loving Jesus we know is the same Jesus who will fight for us. His robe is dipped in blood while the armies of heaven are “riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.” The blood represents Jesus giving his life for us. The clean robes represent how we stand before our Lord, forgiven and blameless because our loving Jesus paid for our sins.
HEART
Sometimes the words of Revelation seem scary and confusing. Here’s the good news…we don’t have to understand them all. We know the happy ever after. Jesus wins! He fights FOR US against evil, and HE WINS!
HANDS
Sit with your family and speak aloud words that describe Jesus. Let me get you started…loving, gentle, warrior.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for being my loving and gentle Father, who will fight for me. Thank You for taking on my sins, so I can be blameless and pure and spend eternity with You.
