Message Notes

A Wise Rhythm

Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV

15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Time is the currency of life that must be spent.

You can experience almost anything in life, but you cannot experience everythingin life.

Matthew 11:28-30 ESV

28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Wise Rhythms:

I. Silence and Solitude

Proverbs 10:19 ESV

19 When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.

Create an intentional time in the quiet to be alone with ourselves and with God.

Matthew 4:1-3 ESV

1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.”

Wise Rhythms:

I. Silence and Solitude

II. Sabbath

"Sabbath" simply means "to stop"

Mark 2:27 ESV

27 And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

You are too busy not to rest.

The Sabbath isn’t simply a day off; it is a day to delight in the Lord.

An easy life probably isn’t an option, but an easy yoke is offered by your savior.
