38 | Acts 8
Scripture
Primary Text: Acts 8:26-40
Supplemental Text: Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8
Observations & Applications
- How do we see Philip live out the Great Commission in this passage? (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8)
- Philip does what he knows, speaks what he knows, is faithful to where God has put Him. Do you believe that God has divine appointments set up for you to invite someone to church or to share the Good News of Jesus with them?
- When you share the Good News of Jesus, are you filled with faith in the power of God’s Word in the life of the hearers? OR are you filled with fear of rejection from man?
- What must a person know to be saved?? What must a person believe in order to be baptized?
- How does the obedient, faith-filled example of Philip inspire and encourage you?
- Is there someone in your life seeking to know more about God? Are you willing to run to them and meet them where they are?
Prayer
God, thank You for this example of obedience. Lord, grow our faith in the power of Your word in the lives of those who hear it. Help us to see and recognize divine appointments that You have orchestrated and give us more of Your Holy Spirit for the courage and confidence to step into those moments.
