Scripture

Primary Text: John 1:35-51

Observations & Applications

1. What do you notice about how people come to follow Jesus in this passage?

2. When Jesus sees Nathanael, He says, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” Nathanael is surprised and asks how Jesus knows him. What do you think Jesus meant by this statement, and why did it impact Nathanael so deeply?

3. In verse 46, Nathanael skeptically asks, “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Philip simply responds, “Come and see.” What can we learn from Philip’s approach to Nathanael’s doubts?

4. Jesus tells Nathanael, “You will see greater things than these.” What does this statement reveal about the ongoing journey of faith?
