QUESTIONS

1. Consider verses 3–5. What does a sincere faith look like in everyday life? What would an insincere faith look like? Who in your life demonstrated a clear faith that shaped how you follow and love Jesus? Who might need you to be “Lois and Eunice” to them?

2. In verse 6, Paul exhorts Timothy to fan his gift into flame. Why might a spiritual gift go cold? How might we fan into flame the gifts God has given us? What are the gifts you need to rekindle in your life, specifically?

3. Verse 7 mentions fear. How does fear play a role in your spiritual life? What are you afraid of that impacts your faith negatively? Of the three things God gives us: faith, love, and self-control, which do you need right now and why?

4. How can you actively contribute to the move of God at Venture? What part do you need to play right now? What is not easy but worth it for you in the life of our church?
