15 | Luke 8:40-48 | Study Guide
Opening
Do you often think of giving your time when it comes to generosity? Are you most apt to give your time or your money? What is more valuable to you, time or money?
Questions
1. Read Ephesians 5:15-16. What is the “best use of the time” from your perspective? What are some ways we unwisely use our time? What do we need to give up or limit in order to make better use of our time?
2. Read Proverbs 11:25. This passage is similar to the counterintuitive promise Jesus made: “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). How do we receive more when we give? How have you seen this played out in your life? What blessings come from being a blessing?
3. The greatest commands involve our love for God and for others (Matthew 27:37-38). In the sermon, we heard how love and hurry are incompatible. Why is this the case? How do we tend to rush past other people? What does slowing down look like when it comes to giving your time? Why do we often find ourselves in a hurry?
