Read Revelation 21

Head

Can you imagine watching a city come down from heaven? This is just a small part of what John describes in Revelation 21. He sees the new heaven and the new earth, and he hears a voice saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man” (Revelation 21:3). Another way to read the word “behold” is, “Don’t miss this!” Following all the sin and hurt in the world, God has created a new place where we can dwell with Him. A place with no more crying, death, pain, or sadness, where all things are new. He has defeated the enemy and saved His children, creating a perfect place for the people who love and follow Him. Revelation 21:6 says, “It is done!” The world will be exactly as our Lord wanted it to be. 

Hearts

I don’t know what you have been through in this world, but I know it’s not always easy. I want you to know that God wins over all the trials. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” What’s His purpose? To bring people to Him. To love them and give them a perfect world. Behold: Don’t miss this.

Hands

Read Revelation 21:1-4 again. Think about 3 words that describe what this new heaven and new earth would be like for you. I’ll start…joyful, safe, and peaceful.

Prayer: Lord, when life gets hard, help me remember that “all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” Help me to live a life that is focused on You. Amen.
